Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Signed Between Inspectorate General of Prisons, Government of Balochistan and Aurat Foundation

On 20 July 2026, an MoU was signed at the Office of the Inspector General of Prisons, Government of Balochistan, to strengthen collaboration on prison reforms, access to justice, rehabilitation, and the protection of prisoners’ rights under the EU-supported project “Trans-Provincial Intervention for Reformative Capacity-Building, Enabling Access to Justice and Advocacy through Outreach Programmes with Actors in the Criminal Justice System.”

On behalf of the Inspectorate General of Prisons, the MoU was signed by Mr. Ziaullah Tareen, DIG Headquarters, with the approval of Inspector General of Prisons Capt. (R) Asim Khan. On behalf of Aurat Foundation, the MoU was signed by Mr. Allauddin Khilji, Resident Director, Aurat Foundation. The partnership aims to promote rehabilitation, legal aid, institutional capacity building, and gender-responsive prison reforms in Balochistan.
