Meeting with MNA Ms. Nuzhat Amir Sadiq on the PLEDGE Programme

A delegation from Aurat Foundation (AF) held a meeting with MNA Ms. Nuzhat Amir Sadiq to discuss the Pakistan Legislative, Electoral, Digital Governance and Empowerment (PLEDGE) Programme and explore opportunities for collaboration and engagement with parliamentarians.

The AF delegation comprised Mr. Naeem Ahmed Mirza, Ms. Mumtaz Mughal, Mr. Syed Safdar Raza, Mr. Shafi Agha, Ms. Mehak Fatima Jafry, and Ms. Sumaira Gull.

During the meeting, the delegation briefed the Honourable MNA on the objectives and key areas of the PLEDGE Programme with particular emphasis on strengthening women’s political participation, parliamentary engagement, inclusive governance, democratic processes and digital governance. The discussion also highlighted the importance of strengthening the capacity of women parliamentarians and political leaders to contribute effectively to legislative and policy processes.

The meeting provided an important platform for exchanging views on opportunities to enhance women’s meaningful participation in democratic institutions and strengthen collaboration among parliamentarians, civil society and relevant stakeholders under the PLEDGE framework.

Ms. Nuzhat Amir Sadiq appreciated the initiative and expressed her interest in supporting efforts aimed at promoting inclusive and effective parliamentary participation, women’s leadership and democratic governance.
