Energy & Environment Action Summit 2026!

Energy & Environment Action Summit 2026! organised by the Global Business Network, successfully brought together leaders, innovators, policymakers, and environmental advocates to discuss sustainable solutions for a greener future.

This remarkable Summit highlighted the importance of clean energy, climate action, environmental responsibility, and global collaboration in building a sustainable world for future generations.

Aurat Foundation was the Knowledge Partner in the Summit – brining women and water into the discourse and successfully highlighting the theme “Water Security & Building Women’s Resilience”.

The AF Documentary (burden of water) depicted the strength of women’s resilience in the face of growing water challenges specifically in the context of the geographical dynamics of Sindh’ ranging from from far flung areas of desert belt (Tharparker).

The Panel Discussion actively highlighted the disproportionate impact of water crises on women & children and the significance of mobilising local networks (WWNs) to ensure equitable, gender-sensitive access to water management and relief.

The panel discussion was led by Muneezeh Saeed Khan, Resident Director, AF Karachi. The panelist’s were an equally dynamic and diverse group of experts; ranging from development and program practitioners to policy and local governance, from the thematic experts to activists and analysists.

It was safely concluded that women stand at the forefront of this battle, armed with their agility and an innate understanding
of the communities they serve – leaving no doubt that their role is central to water governance at all levels.

“Water security plays a significant role when we talk of reducing inequalities (SDG 10) or achieving gender equality (SDG 5)”.
