Aurat Foundation and State Bank of Pakistan Discuss Strengthening Women’s Financial Inclusion in Balochistan

The team of Aurat Foundation Quetta, led by Mr. Allauddin Khilji, Resident Director, along with Ms. Yasmeen Mughal, Project Coordinator, met with Mr. Allauddin Achakzai, Chief Manager, State Bank of Pakistan, Balochistan.
During the meeting, Mr. Allauddin Khilji highlighted Aurat Foundation’s facilitative role in the implementation of the National Financial Literacy Program (NFLP), supported by the Asian Development Bank (ADB). He shared that Aurat Foundation actively supported the State Bank of Pakistan in implementing the program across three provinces, particularly in facilitating the opening of bank and bank less accounts for women, thereby promoting their financial inclusion and economic empowerment.

This engagement reflects Aurat Foundation’s continued commitment to promoting gender equality, social justice, and inclusive development in Pakistan. The meeting also provided an opportunity to strengthen collaboration and reaffirm shared efforts toward empowering women and advancing gender-responsive policies in Balochistan.

Mr. Allauddin Achakzai expressed his appreciation for Aurat Foundation’s contributions and emphasized the importance of future collaboration. He stated that both institutions should work together, particularly to improve the economic conditions of women. He further proposed that the State Bank of Pakistan and Aurat Foundation explore the possibility of signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to formalize their partnership and jointly implement initiatives aimed at women’s economic empowerment and financial inclusion.
