Aurat Foundation Quetta office organized the launching ceremony of the ‘Pakistan NGO Alternative Report on CEDAW-2012’, on December 19, 2012, at Usmania Restaurant, Quetta.  Renowned social activists, Professor Dr Irfan Ahmed Baig, Professor Ms Husun Ara Magsi and Pride of Performance Ms Surraiya Aladin were the guest speakers to give  their views on the NGOs Alternative CEDAW Report 2012, prepared by Aurat Foundation.

 Earlier Mr Amir Ali (AF) briefed participants about the process of preparing the report and the endorsements from about twenty-five  civil society organisations.

 The guest speakers, while expressing their point of view said that prevailing government took unprecedented steps to ensure equal rights to the womenfolk. However there is a long way to go ahead and bring tangible changes in this connection. This report could definitely pave way for the achievement of women’s empowerment.  The event was moderated by Mr. Ishfaq Mengal (AF).  The participants included representatives of civil society organizations, lawyers, political and social activists, media persons and line department.
