Chairperson, Hisaar Foundation Former Cheif of Party, Gender Equity Program, Aurat Foundation
Without doubt Aurat Foundation is one of my favorite women’s empowerment organizations and I love the dedication.

I was introduced to Aurat Foundation by Shehla Zia when she worked with me on the Aga Khan Foundation’s ground-breaking study on NGOs registration in 1989-1990. We became friends and I was later introduced to Nigar Ahmed. I was a witness to the strengthening and growth of Aurat Foundation in its early years. Without doubt Aurat Foundation is one of my favorite women’s empowerment organizations and I love the dedication, commitment and passion of not only its two founders but of the many board members and staff that have nurtured and sustained it, not only through the well-funded years but through all the difficult times. I am proud to be associated with Aurat Foundation in many capacities – the Chief of Party of the Gender Equity Program, as a writer and researcher, an advocate, as an election monitor, but most importantly as a friend, fellow traveler and supporter. So many of Aurat Foundation’s initiatives, programs and projects have shown the way to others and its colleagues have for years graced many international and national committees, commissions and platforms. I wish Aurat Foundation all the best for the next 40 years and send warm applause for all its achievements.
