AF is a movement that gave voice to the voiceless and strength to the silenced.

As Aurat Foundation completes an incredible 40 years of unwavering commitment to women’s rights in Pakistan, I take immense pride in being part of this remarkable journey for more than a decade. This milestone is not just a celebration of the organization’s longevity, but a tribute to its powerful legacy of resistance, resilience, and reform.

Founded during one of the most oppressive eras in Pakistan’s history, Aurat Foundation emerged as a bold and fearless voice against authoritarianism, patriarchy, and gender-based injustice. It was not just an organization it became a movement that gave voice to the voiceless and strength to the silenced. It laid the foundation for a nationwide network of activists, community leaders, and institutions that continue to drive change to this day.

Throughout these four decades, Aurat Foundation has worked tirelessly to shape legislation, influence policies, and transform societal attitudes. From advocating for pro-women laws to mobilizing grassroots communities, from empowering women to participate in political processes to ensuring their access to justice and protection Aurat Foundation has consistently led from the front. Aurat Foundation’s impact goes far beyond numbers or projects it lives in every law reformed, every community mobilized, and every woman who dares to dream of a life free from violence, discrimination, and inequality. As we celebrate this 40-year milestone, we must also look ahead with renewed energy. The challenges may have evolved, but the spirit of Aurat Foundation bold, visionary, and uncompromising remains as vital as ever. May Aurat Foundation grow even stronger in the years to come, and may we all continue to strive for a Pakistan where every woman and girl can live with dignity, safety, and freedom.
