Secretary, Women’s Parliamentary Caucus, Member of National Assembly, PPPP
This legacy continues to inspire our democratic and parliamentary institutions today.

The story of women’s struggle and progress in Pakistan is one of resilience, courage, and collective determination. It is a journey defined by generations of women who have stood against adversity, challenged unjust norms, and tirelessly advocated for equality and justice. This legacy continues to inspire our democratic and parliamentary institutions today.

As Secretary of the Women’s Parliamentary Caucus a cross-party forum established in 2008 through a resolution of the National Assembly. I have witnessed firsthand how women parliamentarians, civil society actors, and allies have worked hand in hand to create a more inclusive and equitable Pakistan. From advancing gender-responsive legislation to amplifying the voices of marginalized communities, these efforts remind us that sustainable progress requires solidarity, persistence, and vision. The documentation of these struggles and successes serves not only as a record of history but as a source of strength and guidance for generations yet to come. It is through such collective memories that we continue to build on past achievements, refine our strategies, and ensure that the agenda of gender equality remains at the heart of our national priorities. I extend my appreciation to all those who have dedicated themselves to preserving and sharing this important journey. Their efforts ensure that these voices and experiences are not forgotten but remain a vital compass for shaping the future of our democracy and safeguarding the rights of all citizens.
