Civil society organizations and networks organised a candle light vigil to pay tribute to renowned qawwali singer Amjad Sabri who was murdered in Karachi on 22 June 2016.  In their condolence message they strongly condemned the murder of Amjad Sabri as an attempt to diminish socio-cultural spaces from society. 

The vigil, held on 24 June 2016, outside Karachi Press Club, was jointly called by Aurat Foundation, PILER, PQF, Qazi Faiz Memorial (QFM) Committee, Voice of Sindh and Concerned Citizens.

Ms. Mahnaz Rahman, Resident Director, and Ms. Malka Khan Program Officer, represented Aurat Foundation.
